Now that we've been introduced to the diamond, and we understand the importance of how solid and deep the foundations need to be, we can take the next step.
This next section covers calories, and the importance of tracking them.

Building Upwards
In order to see progress in the direction we want we need to be specific. By that I mean we need to decide what our goal is. If we want to build muscle we need to be in a calorie surplus (taking in more calories) and if want to lose body fat we need to be in a deficit (taking in less calories)
These are the only two ways we'll see progress.
Pick your goal. Set your calorie targets. And stick to them consistently.
Aim to stick within your calorie target range for around 3-4 weeks. Assess how far you've come, and decide where to go from there.
Consistency is king
The more we're consistent with our calorie targets the better our results will be. A surplus or a deficit is the only way to progress in the direction we want to go in order to hit our goals. Be patient, and be consistent.
